Fitness Assessments - in order to safely and effectively guide our clients to successful attainment of their health and fitness goals, a fitness assessment will be performed. We gather important information about our client's history, physiological information, such as resting heart rate and blood pressure, and body fat and circumference measurements. Cardiorespiratory and posture/movement assessments will also be performed. By obtaining all this information, a fundamental representation of our client's physical capabilities, goals, needs, and status can be created that will enable us to properly design of an integrated training program for each client.
Core Training - the body's stabilization system is referred to as the core. The core is where the body's center of gravity is located and is where all movement begins. A weak core causes inefficient movement and can lead to injury and pain, such as low back pain. Therefore, training the core is critical to achieving optimal results and attainment of health and fitness goals. We incorporate core training into fitness training programs based on individual needs and goals.
Flexibility Training - it is important to have full range of motion in all movements of the body for optimum control of those movements. Muscle imbalances inhibit full range of motion. In order to correct any muscle imbalances, improve function, and avoid injury, flexibility training is incorporated into fitness training programs based on individual needs and goals.
Balance Training - maintaining balance is key to all functional activity, whether walking down stairs, swinging a golf club, or going for a run. Balance is not an isolated component of our function; it is a component of all our movement regardless of if that movement is dominated by strength, speed, flexibility, or endurance. Balance training should be an important component of any fitness training program (this is where most traditional fitness training programs fall short). We incorporate balance training into fitness training programs based on individual needs and goals.
Resistance (Strength) Training - traditionally, resistance training is usually considered the "workout" portion of a fitness training session. Resistance training is designed to produce changes in muscle endurance, strength, and size. As a result, it is the most complex component of a fitness training program. Client goals, such as reduce body fat, increase muscle mass, or develop better athletic performance will determine what level of resistance training (muscular endurance, strength endurance, hypertrophy, maximal strength, or power) is necessary in their fitness training program.
Cardiorespiratory Training - any form of activity or exercise, regardless of duration or intensity, must use the cardiorespiratory system. Therefore, it is crucial to train the cardiorespiratory system to improve health and fitness levels. We incorporate cardiorespiratory training into fitness training programs based on individual client needs and goals. Cardiorespiratory training can be a separate component of an overall fitness training program as a warm-up prior to exercise, a cool-down after exercise, or as a workout in an of iteself. It can also be incorporated into the resistance training portion of a client's workout in the form of circuit training.
Circuit Training - is a resistance training system that is also considered one of the most beneficial forms of cardiorespiratory training. It consists of a series of exercises performed one after the other, with minimal rest. It is a very time-efficient manner in which to train because it eliminates the need to do separate cardiorespiratory training. Circuit training is a great system for individuals with limited time, want to alter body composition, or don't really enjoy performing separate and traditional forms of cardiorespiratory training.
Nutrition - macronutrient and food planning and tracking.
